Easton ACE 570 30"

I chose the Easton ACE over the X10 because, at my current draw weight of 36lb, a lighter shaft gives me the speed I need to reach distance more comfortably. The ACE’s lower mass means I can get faster arrow flight without sacrificing stability, which is especially important when shooting longer rounds. While the X10 is built for higher poundage setups, the ACE strikes a better balance for my setup, making distance achievable without overstraining.

Once I move up to around 40–44lb draw weight, the X10 will become a more practical option. At that poundage, I’ll generate enough energy to take advantage of the X10’s heavier shaft, added stiffness, and wind performance. The extra power will offset the speed trade-off, making the X10 more efficient for long-range shooting and giving me tighter groups in tougher conditions.

I use Beiter Over Nocks with Flo Red as my primary and Flo Green as a backup if someone else has the same colour on my target. They are very bright and easy to spot downrange. The extra nock length pushes the shaft away from my finger, which reduces how much small changes in my release affect arrow flight.

Currently, I pair my setup with Jet6 2" vanes. While SpinWings are the clear favourite among professionals, I find the Jet6s easier to work with. Their shape allows me to apply them straighter and neater, giving a more consistent finish on the shaft and saving time on maintenance.
